Full Form Of CTET, What Is Full Form Of CTET ?



The full form of CTET is Central Teacher Eligibility Test. CTET is a national level entrance exam for the teaching job. The Government of India introduced the CTET exam in 2011 to improve the quality of education in schools and meet the goals of free education for children under the Education Act effectively. Under the NCTE (National Council of Teachers Education) notification sub-section (1) of Section 23 of the RTE, the CTET exam is now mandatory to get the government jobs in the schools for teaching students from class 1st to class 8th. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is entrusted with the responsibility to conduct the exam.



The CTET includes two test papers in the exam, that is, Paper-I and Paper-II. Candidates who are interested to teach 1st to 5th standard need to give Paper-I and candidates who are interested to teach 6th to 8th standard need to take Paper-II. Candidates who plan to teach 1st to 8th standard need to take both the papers. Out by the central government and the governments of the states of India.  Most states conduct their own TET. The test was conducted to complete and achieve the objectives of the Children’s Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act.



The national Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) entrusted the responsibility for conducting the CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) to the CBSE, Delhi, which conducts the CTET twice a year. The CTET is held in twenty Indian languages across the country. The 13th edition of Central Teacher Eligibility Test was held in 110 Indian cities on 8th December 2019. Candidates must score a minimum of 60% marks to become CTET Qualified, and the certificate is valid for 7 years.



CTET Eligibility 2020 are :-
·       Candidates should pass 10+2 with minimum 45 per cent aggregate marks in order to be qualified for appointment as a primary stage teacher.
·       Candidates should clear graduation with minimum 45 per cent aggregate marks or 10+2 with at least 50 per cent aggregate marks in order to be qualified for appointment as an elementary stage teacher.
·       Candidates should complete the prescribed teacher training programmes/teacher education courses.



CTET Eligibility: Age Limit are :-
  • The applicant must be a citizen of India to be eligible for CTET 2020.
  • There is no age restriction, however, the candidate must be minimum 17 years of age.
