Full Form Of DSP, What Is Full Form Of DSP ?

The full form of DSP of Deputy Superintendent of Police. It is a rank used by several police forces in the Commonwealth and formerly in the British Empire. The rank of DYSP officer is the highest rank officer in the National Police Cadet Corps. DSP is a state police officer who represents state police forces. The rank insignia of this officer is a national emblem above one star on shoulder strap. DSP heads the police force of a taluk consists of a city or town that serves as its headquarters, possibly additional towns, and a number of villages in India. The DSP officer wears a three-star strap on his shoulder. Deputy Superintendent of Police is generally posted as Circle Officer (CO) in the district. In the states of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, the DYSP officer is also known as CO officer. The work of DSP police officers is very challenging, and it is responsible to control and managing the law order in the state level.

How to Become DSP
Many of the states like Rajasthan or Uttar Pradesh, DSP also know as CO officers. So you can become a DSP officer through promotion or Civil examination. The requirement for civil examination is given below:-
·       Candidate must be a citizen of India.
·       He must have completed graduation in any stream from a recognized university or educational institute.
·       The candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and should not be more than 30 years old. For SC/ST candidates there is a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit.
·       The minimum height required for male candidate is 168 cms and for female candidate, it is 155 cms.
·       The minimum chest required for men is 84 cms with minimum chest expansion of 5 cms.
